Vol.6 Issue 6.2

This is the season of transitions:  pastors moving into new churches, churches welcoming new pastors, a new District Superintendent!  And even if your church is not having a staff change, these are the days of taking a breath and then looking forward to how you will enter ministry in your community when fall comes. You might want to consider a ministry for and with veterans. See the Resources section below.

The Annual Conference Session last week was exhausting, and thrilling, and had wonderful moments of grace and holiness.  You can read about the various events, see pictures and videos, and find links to more at greaternw.org/ac2017/updates/  You can find a photo gallery at the Greater NW Facebook page: www.facebook.com/pg/GreaterNW/photos/   See some Cascadia District highlights below.

Thank you for your leadership in the local church -- that is where Jesus is touching lives -- through you!

Blessings,

Linda Grund-Clampit
Cascadia District Administrative Assistant

There is a $5 per car entrance fee. Please bring food to share, your own beverage, table cloth and table service. Recent retirees are especially encouraged to join in this time of renewing friendships, sharing a sunny day in a beautiful forest setting, and enjoying a delicious potluck meal.

Support for Ministering With Veterans

As we prepare to celebrate American Independence Day on July 4th, it is good to remember those who have made the commitment to guard our freedoms, many of whom have paid a dear price.  Military Outreach USA is a faith-based program which seeks to support local churches in ministering to and with veterans.   They have many free resources to help your congregation reach out to and support veterans.  If you are at all interested in ministering with veterans, check them out!
You might be interested in a specific program called Adopt-a-VA  On Wed, June 29 there will be a webinar on Adopt-a-VA, using the website and also introducing two new initiatives in Adopt-a-VA.

When: Jun 29, 2017 11:00 AM Central Time (US and Canada)
