Joy Fund – Making Camp Attendance Possible
Every year we have requests from campers who need some assistance to be able to attend their week at camp. The Joy Fund is the resource that we developed over the years to support those in need. Many of you have contributed to this fund to support campers across the conference at our 5 camps (requests are rare for attending events at the Collins Retreat Center). Thank you! Thus far this year we have committed to supporting approximately 225 campers for a total of $38,500! Every year we receive expressions of gratitude from those who receive support. Our registrar, Geneva Cook, received the following note:
Thank you for your kindness and generosity. “B” has loved her experiences at camp in the past and thanks to you will enjoy another year of God’s love and grace.
Bless you, C.
We invite you to receive these words as a thank you to you for your generosity that makes the experience of camp possible. Your generosity impacts lives every year and for lifetimes, generation after generation. Also please accept the gratitude of all of our camp staff who have the thrill of being directly involved in the faith formation, growth in wisdom and healthy self-esteem for all of the campers who attend our program camps. Make a donation online today to support the camp scholarships.
A Call to Preachers
You may be experiencing the summer harvest, but for Lectionary preachers we are getting ready for “Time to Sow!”
Time to Sow is a retreat designed to help you create a cohesive and coherent plan for the coming liturgical year. It requires an investment of 3 nights and four days filled with scripture, reflection, conversation, and prayer. You will come away from it with a preaching and worship plan for your ministry setting that starts with the First Sunday of Advent 2017 and takes you through to The Reign of Christ or Christ the King Sunday 2018.
Come to Time to Sow and discover what an abundant harvest God has set for your congregation this year. Get more information, download a brochure, and register on the camp and retreat ministry website.
