AC Updates are sent every other week to members and guests of the Annual Conference session June 11-13, 2015 in Salem, OR.
Are you a newbie?
Help! My church voted me to be the lay member to Annual Conference - what am I supposed to do next? Don't worry, mentors are available to help new members navigate the ins and outs of Annual Conference. If you would like to be matched with an experienced attendee, simply mark the box on your member registration. There will be an orientation on Wednesday, June 10, at 6:30 p.m. to welcome new people and connect mentors to the “mentees.” If you have questions about having a mentor or being one, please contact Conference Lay Leader Mary Foote at 503-648-3072 or marycfoote@yahoo.com.
I'm Not going
Well, we're sorry to hear that, but perhaps your church has a different lay person going to Annual Conference this year. If so, let your district office know so they can be in communication with the correct person. Thank you.
How to request a roommate
If you would like a roommate to share the hotel room cost, please contact your District office. They will share names of others who are seeking a roommate. Cascadia 503-581-3969; Columbia 503-249-1851; Crater Lake 541-689-3725; Sage 541-389-1047.
Pages Should Apply Now
Do you know a friendly and reliable High School youth who would like to see the Conference in action and have fun with other UMC youth? If so, tell them about the opportunity to be a Page at Annual Conference. Applications are due by May 4.
Please tell us if you will need child care
We are planning to arrange childcare for members of Annual Conference at Salem First United Methodist Church IF there is a need. If you have children under 11 who will need childcare, please contact Sandy Lofy at sandy@umoi.org, or 1-800-593-7539, or fill out the application and return it no later than May 14, 2015.
Reserve a mobility scooter now
If you will need an electric scooter while at the Annual Conference Session, please contact Linda Grund-Clampit at 503-581-3969 or Linda@umoi.org as soon as possible. Rentals in Salem are very limited, so don’t delay.
