In his latest "Spirit Alive" newsletter, Rev. Greathouse takes us all the way back to Wesley's days in exile from the church he grew up in. "Encouraged" to preach outside of official sanctuaries by church leaders, Wesley found inspiration in the great and vociferous evangelist, George Whitfield, to get WAY outside and preach to the thousands.

As you read his article, I wonder if you will also find inspiration outside this summer? Regardless of whether you are clergy, lay person, and/or a person compelled to the wilderness, consider Greathouse's question: "What "open field" is available to you to consider as a way of sharing the Good News...not so much as a preacher, but as a Christian disciple?"
