Thanksgiving Dinner @ Camp Latgawa |
This is part of the mission of Camp and Retreat ministries, and the driving force behind our ministry at Camp Latgawa. We do this in many ways, but in my opinion, the most important and basic representation of Christian Hospitality is fostering and practicing genuine relationships. To All. Christian hospitality and relationship-building go hand in hand. This often comes easier with guests and campers who are familiar to our sites. However, it is my goal to ensure that the stranger, the first time guest, even the lost traveler, are all able to build an authentic relationship with the site and staff. This is how the stranger becomes the returning guest.
The longer I am involved in this work, the more I realize everything we do is based in relationship building. This includes our food service, our facilities, and programming. When we welcome a guest to our site for the first time, all of these factors are opportunities to build trust and inspire confidence. That is why every decision we make makes an impact on hospitality.
I hope guests will see over the next few years a continued dedication to building authentic relationships at Camp Latgawa, in order to provide a greater sense of hospitality. A few places that this may be evident to guests is in our continued striving to provide delicious and healthy meals to all, being sure to tailor to an individuals dietary restrictions, upgrading facilities to be welcoming and comfortable, and designing programs that meet the ever changing needs of our guests and campers. I look forward to welcoming you to Camp Latgawa, and the opportunity to build a relationship!
