We are announcing the intended appointment for the Alaska, Oregon-Idaho and Pacific Northwest Conferences this week. Clear appointment openings, those open due to retirements and other changes, are updated regularly on the Greater Northwest Area website.

There are no appointments to announce in the Alaska Conference this week.

Bishop Cedrick D. Bridgeforth intends to appoint Rev. Carly Hodge to Parkrose United Methodist Church in Portland, Oregon, beginning July 1, 2023.

Hodge, a licensed local pastor in the Oregon-Idaho Conference, currently serves as a Hospice chaplain and quarter-time pastor for St. Helens UMC. She will be appointed quarter-time as well to her new congregation.

Bishop Cedrick D. Bridgeforth intends to appoint Rev. D. Scott Allen to serve Rainier United Methodist Church and St. Helens First UMC in Oregon, beginning July 1, 2023.

Rev. Allen, and ordained elder in the Oregon-Idaho Conference, currently serves Trinity UMC Toledo and Junction City UMC (both in Oregon). He will be serving each of the new congregations half-time.

Bishop Cedrick D. Bridgeforth intends to appoint Rev. Ruth Marsh to serve Dallas UMC and a Polk County United Methodist cooperative ministry exploration, both in Oregon, beginning July 1, 2023.

Marsh, an ordained elder in the Oregon-Idaho Conference currently serving Trinity UMC in Idaho Falls, Idaho, will serve Dallas UMC three-quarter time and the new ministry exploration quarter-time. The new cooperative exploration will include Falls City UMC, Christ’s Church: Methodist and Presbyterian United in Monmouth.

Rev. Steve Mitchell, retired elder, will continue serving Christ’s Church in Monmouth half-time and Falls City UMC quarter-time, while helping Marsh explore cooperative ministry in Polk County.

Bishop Cedrick D. Bridgeforth intends to appoint Rev. Bo Sanders to Twin Falls First UMC in Idaho, beginning July 1, 2023.

Sanders, a licensed local pastor in the Oregon-Idaho Conference, has been serving Vermont Hills UMC in Portland, Oregon.

Bishop Cedrick D. Bridgeforth intends to appoint Rev. David Childress as pastor of Woodburn UMC in Oregon, beginning July 1, 2023.

Childress, an ordained elder in the Oregon-Idaho Conference currently serving Lebanon First UMC, will serve his new appointment full-time.

Bishop Cedrick D. Bridgeforth intends to appoint Rev. Alyssa Baker as pastor of Lebanon First UMC and Albany First UMC, beginning July 1, 2023, half-time at each appointment. Additionally, she'll serve as supervising elder at Sweet Home UMC. These three churches will form the new South Santiago Circuit in the Crater Lake District in Oregon.

Baker, an ordained elder in the Oregon-Idaho Conference, is currently serving as one of four clergy within the Open Door Churches of Salem-Keizer.

Bishop Cedrick D. Bridgeforth intends to appoint the Rev. Kelly Dahlman-Oeth to the South Sound Co-operative as Pastor at Shelton United Methodist Church in Shelton, Washington, beginning July 1, 2023.

Rev. Dahlman-Oeth is currently serving at Ronald United Methodist Church in Shoreline, Washington. The Rev. Ann Lock, Shelton UMC’s current pastor, has requested Personal Leave beginning July 1, 2023.
